I have a CF29mk3 in a mk4 case. The internals have been Frankenstein'd over the years.

At the moment, I have a GC83 properly run via the PCMCIA antenna. It died, probably because of over-heating. Instead, I'd like to use a EU860D in the proprietary WWAN/GPS sled. My Mk3 was not exactly WWAN ready. All I need are some pics and maybe some info on what antenna's go where to rewire the WWAN antenna from the PCMCIA to the sled. At some point I'd also like internal GPS, but for the time being, I use a low-profile bluetooth PCMCIA card and connect to a wireless GPS.

I installed the necessary frame for the sled to attach to, as well as a ribbon cable that comes around to a now-broken connector on the motherboard. I'll have to hot-glue it down, but that would make maintenance difficult in removing the MB. There is what appears to be a MMX connector on the front-facing part of the sled, however the connector on the frame-side has no female/male lead - just the PCB diagram for it. I'll try and up some pics.

TL;DR - What all does one require to make a mk3 "WWAN equipped" via the WWAN sled? Pictures would make for great resource, as none on the site here cover an OEM mk3 WWAN sled. Keep it PG13 though.

OK - so the WWAN antenna runs to the PCMCIA spot...so all I should have to do is run it over to the sled. Unfortunately, my sled, for whatever reason, doesn't have the antenna connector. It just isn't there, as seen in the pictures. Not sure why though.... Any-who, for the time being I'm trying to use the GC83 modem I have in the PCMCIA slot - but using it under Xubuntu seems impossible. All the forums I've been on suggest using scripts and modem terminals and whatnot, but none of them seem to work specifically under Xubuntu. I have a proper PPPD script set, as well as minicom, but minicom just crashes whenever I try and communicate with it. PPPD returns a generic error...WWAN on my CF29 is beginning to look impossible guys. I might start a tread on xubuntu and see if anyone there can help me on that end.
