Hi I have to replace my screen on my laptop and I have only LVDS (1 ch, 6-bit) with 40 pin connector (standard connection for cheap laptops).

So now I'm wondering if there exist any ok or good 15.6" screen at 1366x768 resolution?

My current is glossy with very washed out colors and I'm hoping for a better one but all I can find is reviews of crappy panels with 1366x768 resolution.

I'm using my computer for looking at films / photos and write / surf.
It does not have to be color accurate but of course it would be a benefit when looking at photos. But I would like it to not have washed out colors.

Many thanks for help with this impossible question... :)

    /Johannes

it will be more helpful for other users to suggest you a screen, if you have mentioned your laptop's brand and model number.

the screen that is in it now is a samsung LTN156AT05-U09 with specs here
Alternative specs for the samsung here.
I think these screens are compatible.
The computer is a Toshiba satellite P750-10R with specs here.

    Hope this will help :)

I'm of the opinion that there is no good 15.6" 768p display. There's really only terrible, garbage, and somewhat garbage.

Personally, I'd go for a 1080p panel if possible.

Don't worry! There are some juicy LVDS 15.6" 1366x768 panels out there!

    LG Display LP156WHA-SLL1 Overview - Panelook.com
    LG Display LP156WHA-SLA2 Overview - Panelook.com
    INNOLUX G156BGE-L01 Overview - Panelook.com
    AUO G156XW01 V1 Overview - Panelook.com

Maybe others. Your 40 pin connector is the standard for 2-channel LVDS. Some screens support 20 or 30 pin connectors which you could modify your cable to work with since many of the pins in your cable are not used.

    1. You are wrong.

    2. He can't.

I't is not possible to get a better resolution since the connecting architecture (LVDS 1 ch, 6-bit) can't support it.
    Thanx for the tips... :) :) :)
I have a 40 connector (I think standard) on the panel side and 30 on the mother board side.

    I have ordered a LP156WHA SLL1 EXACT from here.

Now after the order I get cold feet since it has the "EXACT" on the end.

Do you know if it is it the same panel as "LP156WHA SLL1" on panellook.com?

    Thanks for the help!

Contact the seller and get the confirmation, they have advertised that they will supply the compatible screens according the stock availability.

Ahh...I did the buying in a hurry.
I didn't read all the fine print just the panel name and the in stock sign.

That's quit misleading, to pose as you can deliver but later , among the description of the specs of the panel, state that you may send an all together different item.

I will complain to Amazon about that :(

But the question still remains. Does anyone know if LP156WHA SLL1 EXACT and LP156WHA SLL1 is the same panel?

There is no such thing as an "LP156WHA SLL1 EXACT" panel. I have the feeling that the seller put that in the title to tell you that if you order that panel, you will get that exact panel.

I got the Innolux N156BGE-L21 Rev. C1 sent to me.
From what I understand so is Innolux the same as ChiMei or cmo.
A review of the screen can be read here (scroll down until display).

It seems hard to find this screen in the EU but a lot who is selling "compatible" screens and marketing them as the LP156WHA SLL1.

Wow, that really sucks. They simply sent you a bottom of the barrel "compatible" screen.

I can find the exact panel here in China but it is about $80.

Mainly for this reason, I bought my AUO B156XW02 v6 (used) from USA for $86 8 months ago, though it was a used screen it still works fine and pleased with it. We consumers should complain to Amazon about this bad practice of advertising top brand product and sending compatible replacements, I have already complained to ebay but the retailers are allowed to do this legally and we can only fend for ourselves.

Yeah, it is like walking into a car dealership and buying a Ford Mustang, and instead they hand you the keys to a Ford Fiesta. It's "compatible!"

according to panelook, this should have contrast ratio 650:1, which is pretty good for a 1366 screen.

    An update:

I did a A-Z complaint at Amazon claiming that they are very misleading.

Amazon responded the day before yesterday that I can keep the screen and get a full refund of the money I spent including P&P. :)

I parallely ordered a LG Display LP156WHA-SLL1 from China from aliexpress here.

But first I assured that I would get a LP156WHA-SLL1 by asking them if they could ship the exact model if I placed an order. And they responded that if I state in the message box that I want the exact LP156WHA-SLL1 they would only send that. :)

I got the screen yesterday and put it in the computer. It is really nice.
Better but not over the top saturation. And so much better contrast ratio. Some pictures pop so much they even look 3D. :)

One thing though is that when you see all things with so much contrast and color difference you notice the lower resolution in movies more which makes you want a better resolution as well. ;)
(I think it is the resolution or it could be that the movie is just a little out of focus in places. Have no other screen to compare with)
For general office work and looking at pictures it is really lovely though.

I'm sorry but I have no screenshot of the Inulux but read the review there is screenshots there. There it also states that "The contrast of 237:1 is average. However, rates of up to 200:1 are common for lower and medium priced office laptops and multimedia devices. The CMO screen does not reproduce the nicely saturated black colors of a high-end screen. The glare-type however "camouflages" this shortcoming a bit."

    So 600:1 is a lie.

Thanks for all the help Qing Dao you were an angel !!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
