Hi,
I'm really interested in an OLED screen vs a LCD (IPS or TN, I'm not sure) 144 Hz screen (Clevo PB5xRF) for the image quality / vivid colors as I'm not a competitive gamer. It seems to me to be a more pleasant experience to watch an OLED screen than an IPS screen (especially for watching movies).
However, I'm wondering how much I've to fear image burn-in and retention with static elements like status bar / HUD in video games. I play sometimes a lot (long gaming session on the same game). I'm not sure if burn-in is a long term issue or it can happen if you forget to shut down your screen for example for the night while you're AFK.
Thanks

i'v had oled on my phone since since 2015ish, no burn that i can see. the newer TVs are getting much better about it, in fact RTING burn test showed the 1 IPS panel they used as a control BURNED in worse than some the OLEDs.
Can't speak for laptops but, for other OLEDs that's what i've seen. on TVs they are so low latency that frames actually have longer display time due to how quickly it draws the frame as compared to LCD, this also means there is stutter and judder because your eye is exposed ot each from longer. once they fin a way to draw the frame slower OLED will really hit it's prim for TVs.
OLED and lifespan
