Mavrell BKK2 + Toshiba 24nm NAND
Lite-On OEM
ORICO HM01-128S3
faster than Crucial M4 128G and Plextor 128M3P

now if this turns out to be true, and prices are somewhere between m4 and px-m3 it should be a very nice option. Very impressive sequential write for whatever it could be used and 4k qd1 read.
I didn't believe this controller had this much in it. m2p already was impressive, but this...
can't wait for toggle 2 spec nand to start showing up with it's 400Mbps throughput -
orico 128g

Sheesh, will it ever be fast enough for people? Give me CHEAP! Then worry about freaking speed records.
-
oooh Marvell controller. Me likey
EDIT: Exact same controller as M4 -

What's the point of speed if your SSD craps out after 2 weeks. Hence the reason why I avoid SF/OCZ and stick with Intel/Samsung.
-
actually exact same as in 510, m4 has a little different code for some reason, even though they should be the same.
-
And also it's not likely you will notice the difference by switching from a m4 or intel 510 to a orico, outside the benchmarks. -

I wish Intel would go back to using their own controllers. The X25 SSD's are rock solid and perform like a champ.
-
Now, if they would've said the problems have been eliminated, that would've been a different story. -

How's RMA for ORICO anyways?
Not that you would ever want to have to RMA it, Intel/Samsung have great RMA services to back up the already great reliable. Though I still don't trust the 520, not yet. -
Toshiba / Samsung 24nm NAND has better quality than the intel/micron's
Best choice in my opinion is
for 128GB : Plextor PX-128M3P / PX-128M2P / ORICO 128G
for 256GB : Samsung PM830 256GB / Plextor PX-256M3
for 512GB : Samsung PM830 512GB
for 600GB : INTEL 710s
I will Ignore :
OCZ / Cosair / ADATA / Kingston ( bad controller)
INTEL 320/520 ( bad controller ,low quality NAND chip for customer level )
Crucial M4 (low quality NAND chip for customer level ) -
What do you mean by "low quality NAND"? Intel and Crucial have a very solid reputation for high performance, reliability, and customer service. If there's something everyone is missing, then please share. There's no doubt Samsung has a solid product as well, but to dismiss Intel and Crucial is just silly.

I just got in my 4th Intel 320 series SSD (80, 120, 2 x 160) and I have yet to have an issue. Again speed is all relative, most people cannot tell the difference between 260 read and 400 read. And mainstream Intel SSDs have always had a solid reputation for reliability.
Crucial is a whole different issue, they seem to have issues and Crucial addresses them via firmware updates. Intel seems to have some quirks at first launch but fixes them quickly.
Also controllers can partially make up for low quality flash NAND, at least that was a selling point of SandForce (Durawrite). -
I don`t get why you guys don`t want the Marvell controller. The controller handles uncompressed data much better than the Sandforce controllers. The garbage collection are good. Intel 520 and Crucial M4 got exellent feedback from happy customers. You must be really unlucky or something Tsuname, since @Newegg the 320 have little bad reviews as I can see. EDIT: Maybe not. I see some drives there with higher than usual unsatisfied customers. Been long since I followed the reviews there now I can see.
The NAND Intel is using are top notch. Intel SSDs are the most reliable and long lasting drives in the market.
EDIT: Maybe I want to recheck everything again. They "was" atleast reliable before.
Nevermind this post. Got a lot of catching up to do in the SSD apartment -

Well intel business class SSDs use THE best NAND around.
-
They used to use SLC now have switched to the more cost effective eMLC.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Which are just binned MLC for higher writes, therefore the best MLC.

The best MLC sure but still not as good as true SLC
ORICO HM01-128S3, World fastest 128G SSD ?
