Hello, my old Dell inspiron 1000 has decided that it no longer wants to boot into windows anymore. Sometimes I will get as far as the windows welcome screen but then it will lock up, sometimes the screen will just go black, the touchpad still works though. I did the diagnostic check, all I am able to get from this is a bunch of error codes telling me that dell will know what they mean. I am literally getting hundreds of these errors, so many I could not even complete the test. I am not the most computer savvy individual, does anybody have any tips to get it going again? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

I would suggest taking your hard drive out and hooking it up to another computer (with an external enclosure) and run a diagnostic on it that way. If your OS is corrupted it might never complete a test running off the bad drive.

You might have a bad hard drive and the quicker you can find out and get your data off the better.
