I got tired of my Agility 3 common freezes, therefore I decided to clone the entire system back to my old Agility 2 drive.
I was kind of aware to use the old drive, because of older and slower technic, but when I checked the benchmark scores I really surprised:

Windows 7 boot time also better with two seconds according to bootracer 3.8.
Is this normal that Agility 2 faster than Agilty 3 or just my drive that so special?

It is possible that the Agility 3 does not do as well as the Agility 2 on SATAII speeds. Since the 3 model was made for a faster SATAIII interface, it isn't working in it's optimal environment, possibly that is slowing it down. Since your laptop only has SATAII, and the Agility 2 maxes it out, there is no reason to own a SATAIII drive.

The SF1000 series controller might also be a bit better with incompressible data as well. I have no data to confirm or infirm this, but running Atto should shed the light on that guess.
-
Well I thought my laptop has Sata3 controller, but if just SataII than that can explain your theory.
I was also thinking, might Agility 3 use less memory chip, while agility 2 use more. Somewhere before I read more memory chips can increase the SSD speed. Like computer memory; single, dual or triple channel... -
agility 2 should be faster than agility 3 under some circumstances (some writes), but your scores are really weird. Did you by any chance disable write caching on your drive? If yes, enable it and try again.
-
Write caching enabled, absolutely same settings on both drive, because I cloned the system by Norton Ghost.
Unfortunately I having problem with Agility 2 too, because from sleeping going to freeze, than make a hard restart automatically. I have no luck to have a perfect drive...:confused2: -
yes, sandforce1 has/had issues with sleep states. Some of our "disobedient" customers bought, on their own without consulting, corsair's force drives in their early days, and we solved issues by disabling sleeps on their laptops whatever they do after realising what the problem was. That's a very nasty bug imho, but at the same time one most people don't stumble upon.
I can't believe that's not fixed yet though.
both ag3 4k results are still very interesting, I have no idea what's causing them, I'm sorry. -
Your Agility 3 has slower writes than mine, also 60GB run on 50MB. Mine gets 70+MB/s writes on normal writes.

Just for update, Windows 8 solved my freezing problem with Agility 3.
Ocz Agility 2 faster than Agility 3?
