    Hello,

My acer travelmate 7520G has an extra HDD slot and for Christmas I got a extra hard drive. The problem is that the power cable on the motherboard doesn't seem to be a standard power connection. It is a 2-pin socket (on the picture it is the white connector beneath the SATA data socket) and it says SATAPWR beneath it. I have tried looking on the web for a 2 pin SATA power cable but not found anything.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Duff Man

The short answer is you need a hard drive caddy to install that hard drive.

Depending on how this model is setup, it will either be a second of the caddy you currently have, or it will be a single caddy that allows both drives to be attached.
I am leaning for towards the first but I have not worked on this specific laptop in the past, so I can only speculate.

Take out your other hard drive, I'll bet that it has a connection for that on it. If so, post the part number here and I'll try to find one online.

Hello everyone! I found the part numbers! They are 50.TL701.009 2nd hdd cable and 33.TL701.004 2nd hdd bracket. You can get them from www.acerspareparts.co.uk and they are both about 20 quid. Im from Czech Republic and I ve had to call Acer Czech to find this out! Good work lads.... Dave
