Well that's stupid. I had the Creative X-Fi notebook two years ago, but it looks like they updated it. I could have swore that it had a hardware X-Fi chip in it, there was discussion about this here before, and someone reported that they were getting a couple fps more in their games with the sound card (because the soundcard was doing all the sound work instead of the notebook's processor).
If Creative have dumbed it down, well, that's just stupid.
