Folks here convinced me that I need to get an SSD, and which one out of the top three choices I end up getting will depend on pricing, but in the meantime, got a few more questions.
A.) 128 or 256GB? Right now, 128 would be fine, but if these last as long as people say, then I'd be moving it to my next notebook and might want 256Gb.

B.) Is SATA III(6gb/s) the current best SSD bus and will it stay that way for at least a few more years? If not, then I might be better off with a 128gb SSD with the idea that I will want to upgrade to a SATA IV SSD for my next notebook?

Any thoughts on this other than "just get the damn SSD already" :)

I, personally, would go with the 256GB for future use. As far as SATA III...if you are going SSD for the first time, the SATA III is the way to go. If your machine has SATA II, you will still get top end performance. Should you move the drive to another machine in the future that has SATA III / IV...you will see better performance. SATA III drives are backward compatable...so no loss, but future gains ahead of you (if that is the case).

I think if your budget allows it...go with 240GB or greater...I got the 120GB SSD in my sig as my primary drive right now..and I absolutely LOVE it...but I def wish I had gotten the 240GB version...the only thing on it is the OS and BF3..it only had like 65GB left...so I just picked up the Samsung 830 256GB SSD to use as my secondary drive..and I'm going to get an external enclosure or dock for my 750GB platter....I got the Samsung SSD at Newegg...$359.99 plus a $20 instant rebate code...the code is only good until tomorrow Feb 7th...check it out in the Tech Bargains section of this board...$339.99 plus free shipping is a great deal in my opinion...check it out!
