With the motherboard below, what is the largest harddrive i can run to it? And using what interface?
http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en-us/mb/content.php?S_ID=246#
-
you can use sata and the largest one you can find.
-
as in the interface near the southbridge?
-
Yup those 2 black port are sata.
-
by the way...the site doenst say but does anyone know if its ide 100 or 133
-
what for????? your mobo supports sata. so you should get a sata hard drive.
i can't check the manual, but you could find out there if it is 100 or 133. -
because i can only find smaller hds in sata150....i want at least 500 which i can only find in IDE
-
another thing to note is that the motherboards chipset (according wiki) doesnt support sata-300
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_ATA#SATA_and_PATA
^^see backward compatibiltity -
your right. sata 2 as it is also called is not supported. but sata/sata1 is.
-
yes and then with that there is the size issue
-
well its up to you really.
did you check the manual.
