    Hi guys,

I own a studio xps 1340 and have a spare processor T9400 (2.53Ghz/800/6MB cache ). I wanted to know if I can install the old processor into studio xps 13 which comes with P7350. The difference is of the FSB, will T9400 work?

It should work, but will be running a bit warmer. Both CPUs support bus speed of 1066Mhz, where did you get the 800 number from?

    cheers ...

You're probably confusing the T9400 with the T9300/T9500 Santa Rosa processors. The T9400 is a part of the Montevina family and has a 1066mhz bus as was said above.

Also, interestingly a forum member switched from a very similar processor to a T9400 and they found that it decreased their temps.

Thanks guys, sorry my mistake, yes it does support 1066 FSB. The processor was taken out off another notebook which had ddr2 ram with 800Mhz FSB. That led me to suppose the bus for the processor would be the same.
