    On Board Video Chewing RAM bandwidth

    Hi.

    I've recently discovered using Sandra benchmarking software that my onboard video card is chewing into my RAM bandwidth. My typical video settings, 1400 X 1050 pixels and high colour, are reducing my RAM bandwidth by ~30%. While I can compromise on my video settings, the lowest practical demand settings still reduce RAM bandwidth by ~ 20%.

    My question is this: given that the mini PCI slots don't support video cards, is there another way to get an alternative video card onto my system? For example is there a way to use an external case/pci card over USB2 to provide a non-onboard video card?
