About 5 years ago, I buyed a Compaq HP NX9105 with JBL speaker.

Now, I'm looking for a new notebook to replace it but I'm very disappointed of the low speaker quality of the actual notebooks.

Comparing the audio quality output I have with my old Compaq, the new notebook seem like the old gramophone. Sound is flat, no dinamic, no low frequency.

Ok... I understand that JBL is one of the best audio manufacturer in the world, but I can't believe that there is not in the market a notebook with good quality audio speaker.

Do you know which notebook manufacturer use JBL or any other quality audio speaker ?

    Thank you

Look for speakers with Altec Lansing speakers, they tend to be on the better side. Also check the audio settings, some have dolby rather than realtek effects which are reasonably acceptable.

the 17" multimedia laptops come with good speakers, usually 5 speaker surround with a brand name and a subwoofer.

The Asus W90 has this setup, it sounds pretty good and its very loud so I like it.

I see some nice HP laptops with good speakers too. But I do not care for the laptop itself, so I would rather get the good laptop with bad speakers and make up for it with a set of external speakers or headphones, than trade off the laptop build/quality/speed/power just for sound.
