Okay, I have this fairly miscellaneous issue, but it bothers me big time — my laptop has two pins so the lid closes more tightly. One of them works (it hooks into the chassis) but the other one is completely loose. I've tried inspecting pin holes for potential damage, but everything seems to be fine. How do I fix my issue? Thank you for your suggestions!

Do one of them look bent? It seems to be common in the Elitebooks as my 14in 8470P exhibits similar, although they do both latch, it just one side does and other doesn't upon close. I have to do it slap bang in the middle for both to latch shut.

No, everything seems normal. One of the pins functions and one doesn't. I've even taken the laptop apart and looked at it up-close, but I find nothing. Could the problem be the pin holes? I don't know.

It could either be the pin holes or in most cases the pins are definitely bent but just a tiny bit to not latch while looking normal. When did it start happening?
