    Hi,

I read on this site that dual core notebooks don't come optimized to run both cores.

I searched to try to find the post again, but I can't find it.

What does it mean that they are not set to run both cores properly, and what needs to be done to rememdy it?

    Thanks!

Most users probably won't notice the difference, but if you are running multiple CPU-intensive applications, a multithreaded app, or benchmarks, you will.

When the cpu market is focuing on Dual Core, no one will buy the Penitum M now. Even thought the benchmark show us the difference, we don't feel it different when running for Internet, document or basic games.....

most people won't notice the difference between a C1D 1.8ghz and a C2D 2.0 ghz because they are both so powerful that the performance increase would probably only be in the seconds

yet there are still people who believe that the difference between a C1D and C2D is so big that it's worth $300 to upgrade.
