Is it really important to run Optimize service in Windows 8 while using Samsung PM830 SSD? I found it increases the temps and the fan keep spinning non stop while I enable the service, any advice is appreciated.

What 'service' is this?
The Samsung Magician 'optimize'?
I don't even let Samsung Magician run (unless I want to check for updates to the firmware...). -

JOSEA,
No, in Win8 you don't need to turn off that 'optimize' service - SSD's are detected and a TRIM command is sent to them (they aren't defragmented in the classic sense).

Thanks tiller and JOSEA, I have quitter laptop since I switch the homepage from msn, I don't think my higher temps are due to the Optimize Drive service, msn has lot of adverts and they run in the background causing the fan to work continuously to keep the temps down.
As you have suggested, I need to enable Optimize drive service to have the TRIM command to work, Thanks again for your contribution.
