Hi ppl,
I live in the netherlands, but alas i am in need of a ram fix. Atm RAM prices are just nasty here (1 Gig stick= 75) and after lookin at newegg.com and the exchange prices i figured ill have a relative of mine in the states buy me a 2-Gig stick for (120$ = 90) and send it over.
Alas, iv never installed ram before so i was wonderin if i should be worried about compatibility problems? Because if it wouldnt sending it back to the store would be even more of a pain in the ass then otherwise. At the moment there are 2x512 ddr2 533Hz sticks in my machine, and id be buying a 2GB ddr2 533 stick.
Will I be ok?

ram is ram. there shouldnt be any compatibility issues other than the speed but i think you got that covered with the same speed (533Hz)

Actually I forgot that the ram would be 667Mhz, as 553 ram is just starting to be a lot harder to find. The only 533 2GB stick i found on newegg.com has a heat-spreader, and i kinda want mine to fit my laptop... Should i just go with 667 MHz? Iv read that it shouldnt be any problem.

yea its not a problem. it just puts the speed down to 553mhz if that is all your motherboard supports.
