I have been using the AMD Clock Tool to overclock my GPU and it has had great results.

Is there a good guide or freeware utility for safely overclocking my i7-820QM?

You can't overclock the 820QM, only the extreme 920XM and 940XM. At best, you can hope setFSB works with your model and overclock the whole system. That's a lot riskier though. Judging by the HP Envy in your sig, it's not going to work. HP is notorious for locking everything down tight. An 820 is pretty fast as it is though and even if you manage to overclock it, it's just going to TDP throttle anyways.

setfsb would work to OC your cpu frequency bclk (CPU & Memory). Contact Abo from the setfsb webpage and see if he can help.
