I have a hp dv5z ( 2GB and HD 3200 IGP with 2.1GHz puma turion) When i am lpaying counter-strrike source it runs beautifully but when i exit the game and return to my desktop, this is what flashes for a few minutes. Why is this happening?

overheating would occur if you had overclocked something or if the air trap is blocked. Also look i you have lattest driver.
-
upgrade to latest ati drivers and monitor your gpu temps using hwmonitor, gpuz, riva tuner or what ever do it for you. report back.
-
run this: http://www.cpuid.com/
and this: http://sp2004.fre3.com/beta/beta2.htm
Then wait till the temps stabalize, post your results.
For graphics, still run cpuid, but run this ( http://freestone-group.com/video-card-stability-test.htm) instead of orthos. -
Run HWmonitor in the back ground whilst gaming, so you can see your max and mins.
-
Ok, thanks for the feedback. Ill do these things this evening and post back here. thanks

I ran orthos for 1 hour and 15 minutes on blend (cpu and ram) and test had 0 warnings and 0 errors. it had just passed 768kk FFT length with these results and temperatures were for CPU MAX 89 and MIN 62. Going to now test my IGP..are the temps under ACPI the numbers i want to watch while testing my IGP?

When you run this and go back to desktop does it act funny? Artifact? You need to know how hot it gets when gaming?
Is it a heat issue? We don't know enough yet.
Temps are hotter than I like but not at the limits. Also we don't know GPU and that is the important component in this. -
That almost looks like a driver problem ...
-
When running orthos my desktop did not artifact at all. It isnt even doing it now during my video card stability test. Temps from ACPI (which i assume is my IGP) are at 90 max and 64min with a 74 value...cores are staying around 89 max and 64 min
How long should i run my Video card stability test? -
If this is a driver problem im not sure why. I went to my device manager and found my 3200 and did a driver update and windows says my drivers are up to date? should i search ATI site itself?
-
You should try and find the temps when you come out of gaming? The fact that while gaming and not having problems is confusing to the point of? Not the problem you think?
Are you having trouble when you test the system non gaming? Goes back to not heat?
You must rule in and rule out, if you don't? Nothing we can do?
As likely to be drivers at this point as anything, you must do more. -
run cpuid hwmonitor in the background while playing (at least 30 min)
check the max values after finish session, post a picture.
Overheating problems? I think..can someone take a look?
