    Overheating, the new 9xxx-series

    Will the new 9xxx-series have the same problems as 8400 and the 8600 from Nvidia? Have they fixed it?

    Well the 9500 is apparently also G84, so if the 8600 is affected, then yes the 9500 also is. But the new series, 9600, etc. are different.

    Ok, that sucks pretty bad. :(
    Can someone please put up a list, or direct me to one, where it describes which one is G84 etc.. I have absolutely no clue what it means :)

    Yeah, ok. So YOUR GPU is fine, but that doesnt cover the fact that a lot of people have mentioned that their laptop and GPU is way to hot. It could be mutiple reasons why though. One of the reasons i can think of is probably a bad cooling system in their laptop that affects the GPU in some way.

    But its like what the xbox owners said in different forums: "pffft, xbox360 is awesome and mine have never had the Red light of death. Therefor xbox360 doesnt have issues". Turned out that the crappy console had a 33% failure rate. ;)
