It's always been like this, ever since I got this laptop. Any time my computer is on, my GPU fan never stops spinning. It doesn't spin at max or anything, but it never stops spinning, and occasionally it spins faster and fluctuates the noise. My CPU fan is normal. It spins when it has to, but most of the time when I am just surfing the net it is fine. This is getting really annoying because it is quite noisy and distracting, and I have to sleep my computer everytime I am doing homework. It's annoying also because I have to manually turn it on everytime I need to google.

I've tried everything to fix it. New thermal paste (AC5), cleaned out the heatsink with alcohol, canned air, and even new chassis (although it's because my old one broke). None of them work. The frustrating thing is that most of the time, the fan blows out cold air, meaning the GPU isn't even hot to begin with (which makes sense, since I only game occasionally). If I wanted an air conditioner, I'd buy one....

Does anyone have any tips on how to solve this problem?

I'm gonna try flashing my bios first actually because I read that the fan is quieter in a different BIOS in the Gateway forums. I'll give speedfan a try after.
