    P8400 Overclock possible?

    Hi im new on notebookreview.com and i don't know, this processor is overclokable on HP DV5 1170ew? i search information on internet but with not effect. I trying o/c by SetFSB(probably i used bad clockgen), and other programs... No EFFECT!

    Please answer :) i overclocked my 9600M GT too without problems, laptop is really nice :)

    HP tme-lock their PLLs so can't overclock them unless do PLL pinmods. See sig. A 84000-2.26 is overclocked to 3.6Ghz here using PLL and dualIDA overclocking. Quite a big margin to play with.

    Yes u'll need a pin mod.. even after that , u might not have ur PLL supported... hp's not recommended for overclocking.. i had a Dv5t with similar specs and T9400 and it ran hot even without OCIng.. u'll burn the laptop with Ocing..
