    Good afternoon,

I have spent a good bit of time trying to find the real world difference between these processors, and if it is worth the $160 to go from the P8400 to the P9500. So far I have come up with very little, even going through the first 15 pages of this forum. If anyone could give me any insight into the cost vs performance of these two it would be greatly appreciated.

As for how I am using the machine, I will commonly be re-encoding video, and I would like to be able to do minor tasks while that is processing (eg bumming around the net, minor MS Office applications). I will game, but am well aware that the processor is not really the bottleneck.

P.S. Bonus question: Personal preference, on a 15.4" laptop, is it worth the $60 upgrade to get a 1680x1050 screen? As you can tell I'm on a very limited budget, so trying to squeeze everything I can out of my money =)

Many thanks to all who respond!

Excellent, not entirely sure how I missed this. Much appreciated.
