    which would you prefer?
P8400, since it is newer and has a higher bus speed?
or T9300, since it has higher processor speed, and more cache?

    speed vs bus vs cache...

trying to decide if a high end Studio1535 will be sufficient or if i should really hold out and go for the Studio1537..

    awesome. thanks!
that pretty much seals the deal of getting a pimp studio 1535 from the outlet , as opposed to holding out for a newer 1537...

The T9300 clocks at 2.5GHz with an 800MHz FSB and the P9500 clocks at 2.533GHz with a 1066MHz FSB. In general I'd say there really shouldn't be that much a performance gap between these two - the P9500 might be a tad bit faster, but it shouldn't be noticeable.

The bigger difference is that the T9300 is a 35W part while the P9500 is a 25W part. If you want to shell out more for the potential better battery life or lesser fan movement, by all means go for the P9500. Else, the T9300 is already a fine processor.
