Greetings everyone, I recently purchased a Dell SXPS 16 and I specifically requested an Intel P8800 Processor. I recently installed CPUID hardware monitor and it tells me that I have a T9550 but the System Information indicates it is a P8800 just as I have ordered.
I know these processors are the same speed and the only difference is the TDP and cache size.
I am wondering though, which of these to believe. Are there any other methods to verify this? It would make me much happier knowing that I have the P8800. I am leaning towards the OS system information rather than the 3rd party software though.

Can you install CPU-Z and make a screenshot?
When it has 3MB L2-cache it's a P8800 and when it has 6MB L2-cache it's a T9550. -
Everest, CPU-Z should work. If neither, then try Intel's official identification program.

Thanks for the replies! I went ahead and downloaded the intel processor identification utility. I didn't even know such a thing existed. It confirmed my processor as the P8800. I feel pretty confident about the results since it is the manufacturer's program.

Hey guys I'm tossing up between these two. The T9550 is about $25 more. Would it be worth it? Or would it be better to have the P8800 for the lower temps (if any...)?

You could open up your computer and get to the processor and see what it's labeled.

What do you mean? I currently have a P7350 and cpu temps at load are around 65C average.

get a T9550... its faster and when u undervolt it , u get a temperature as low or lower than P8800...
P8800 or T9550?
