Hello,
I didn't really know where to put this so excuse me if it's the wrong forum.
What I've been wondering is, can you use the HDMI port of a normal PC to connect to the HDMI port of the notebook so that you can see what's happening on the PC without using a monitor?
I know it might sound weird but I was curious of being able to use the HDMI port of my notebook as a receiver rather than a sender![]()
My notebook is a HP 8510p if that helps.
Regards

You can't: those ports are for output only.

Aren't there any PC Cards type I/II with HDMI in?

No, the bandwidth required for HDMI-in far exceeds the usual PCMCIA CardBus standard (even 32bit is just shy of uncompressed 1080P).
There are HDMI capture cards, but they are all PCIe, so you would need them to make an expresscard version of something like this;

Or hope that it would run ok with an adapter like this;

But the amount of data needed to be processed and respit back out to the monitor makes it impractical for real-time viewing. You'd be far better off with a cheap dedicated LCD.
