No one have any scores? Come on, its real easy to do, only takes a few minutes and runs through an IE browser.

Just goto: www.pcpitstop.com and click on the "Key" icon near the top of the screen. From there select the same "key" icon under the "New Members" link. You will be asked to install an activeX control called "PCPitstop Utility", dont worry its safe. Choose the "Test Anonymously" link and the test will go through its paces and give you a score. The benchmark will test pretty much everything, from cpu, hd, ram and video and give you a total score.

Not bad at all, if you increase your ram and if you can the video ram (possibly in BIOS like on the v2000z) you can probably add to your score quite a bit. Not a bad price either, after my upgrades I paid around $900 total.

    900 CANADIAN????
    Nice,

Yea uhave 1.256gb which owns my 512

in bios i couldnt find anything to change video ram, after switching harddrive ill get better to but in the tests, my cpu compared to other cpu at same mhz my score got higher then pentium m at my speed on that site.. showing celeron m isnt as bad as people say Only thing is battery life. so if you dont need to be unplugged often go for a celeron :)

++++ Ill use this on my dads t41 with a pentium m later, hes at a meeting now

    40 gb HD
    DL DVD writer
    brightview screen

Is this test geared toward laptops? Cuz I swear, I was expecting a much better score from my desktop...

My score for my I9300 was 1709. I think there's a definate "point of diminishing returns" going on in these tests, since despite the difference between 1.25GB and 2GB of RAM and an x200M vs. a GF Go6800, my score is only 10 points higher than sabbasaun's.

    I'll test my v2000z later.

By the way, I'm moving this to hardware, as it is more general for all computers, not just HPs.

What are you desktop specs? This test isn't tailored for laptops or vice versa.

Well the reason it was posted in the HP forum was because I wanted to compare my v2000z laptop to others not what everyone else has. I wasn't specific in the OP which is my fault, ohwell no biggie.

Not sure why your Dell is scoring the way it is either. You do have an advantage in GPU power and HD speed. I'm not sure who has the advantage in CPU power, your Pentium M 750 1.8ghz and my Turion 64 bit ML-37 2.0ghz. I hear memory above 1 gb you don't see much of a difference in benchmarks. I'm also running a relatively clean system, with only about 34 system processes (including avast av). Perhaps that is where the difference lies?

On a side note, my desktop AMD x2 3800 (OC 2.4 Ghz, 1gb PQI Ram, XFX 256 mb 6600, Seagate 160 SATA) will score over 2900+. So i know this test will scale to much faster CPU, GFX and HD speeds.

    thanks!

    P4M 3.2GHz - 1GB Dual channel DDR400 - 9700M 128MB - 7k60 HDD

the deduction is because I have rightmark running and makes it seem like my CPU is at 100% usage all the time

k Guys , if your worrying about differences between video cards , its because this test only conducts 2d video cards, my gma 900with 32 shares scored almost the same as my x700pro with 256ddr3 in a desktop.

Another program worth testing is Performance Test, it tests all aspects even cd roms and tests 2d and 3d and comes up with one number,

    my laptop = 284
my desktop=302 which are both actually pretty low
    its because 1 celeron m
    1 celeron d lol im a cheapy

    zv6000 here
    512 ram
    60 gb 5400
    A64 3500+

    1692

Almost full HDD, undefragmented. More RAM will aslo help I think. I should rerun it without Kaspersky as it slows down the machine

Are you talking about your overall scores are the same? or just the video portion? You should see a difference even on the video tests between different cards. My v2000z ATI 200m w/128mb shared scored 141 and my desktop with a 256mb 6600 pci-e scored 385 on the video portion of the test.
