    I'm seeing a lot of books having PC2-533 instead of 667 for their C2D processors and it makes me wonder how much of an impact on performance it makes. is it worth worrying about?

    At this stage, not really. While the PC2-667 has a higher bandwidth, it suffers from latency due to higher CAS timing. As a result, in real world applications both speeds perform very much the same.
