    PCTV TV Tuner

    I have a usb tuner and am using windows vista media center to watch TV however the remote control does not work is there any suggestions as to how to get it to work, i am guessing that i cannot use it because im not using the software that came with the tv tuner as its not compatible with vista?

    No it proably will not work if you dont install the programs, as there may be some issues with drivers, or firmware, of a IR reciever in the tuner.

    The tuner needs to pick up a IR signal from the remote, and then transmit it to vista. However, without the software, that second step probably will not work, and so you cannot use the remote, and it is highly unlikely that your laptop have a built in IR reciever, and even if it does, it would be fiddly to use and difficult to configure.
