I probably should have asked this before I ordered and installed the 4gb upgrade but live and learn.............

I currently have PC 5300 667Mhz memory in my laptop and am curious as to whether or not 800Mhz memory will work with this motherboard. I have googled but haven't been able to find anything that makes any sense to my computer illiterate self.

The chipset will only run at up to 667MHz, so you can put in faster RAM, it will just run at 667MHz.

It will just downclock to 667mhz. No platform supports 800mhz so far.. until montevina comes out anyway...

Hey thanks for the info guys...........guess I got the best I can get for it already then.

By the time I'm done sinking money into this thing in the form of a new processor, hard drives, OS and memory I probably could have just bought a new Montevina when they come out.

CPUs in MB's w/ i965 can run at 800FBS,, but like the others above have stated,,

RAM speeds are limited to 667 by the i965 chipset it's self... so you are fine!!!

I guess it's not a huge deal in any case huh? Computer runs Crysis at a decent level, won't run it maxed out but I doubt RAM is the limiting factor there anyway.
