Guy's what are some decent priced 1GB & 512MB memory modules that'll be good?I tried to put a 256MB PNY into my Inspiron 1150. Nope ,nothing happening.Went with a ACP or something like that.I had gotten from a flimsy computer shop!
I'am seeking 1GB to install into a Dell Inspiron 6000
    with the celeron M processor(1.4GHz)

What was the type of RAM you tried to put into your 1150?

Crucial and Kingston, also Patriot makes good memory. I'm assuming you're using DDR266 or DDR333 RAM, since that's an older model laptop. So, you're looking at $110-130 for a 1GB module, and $50-$75 for a 512MB. You're probably better off with another 512MB module, unless you really need the one gig.

Newegg has a nice memory finder for notebooks, also try ZipZoomFly - they have good service.

Oh, and just before you go out and buy a new stick of RAM, did you try it in both slots (if it was the correct type that is).

    Yep tried both.It was a DDR333 Ram PC2700
I've been told that for some reason.Certain rams;don't work with the Inspiron 1150/1200/2200/6000/and the 600m

    The ram was PNY

I always thought that dell have specific brands of ram that work/don't work for them... then again maybe i am thinking of older models.

PNY might not work for Dells, but I still think that it is a quality
manufacturer. But definately Corsair & Crucial are nice.

When it comes to internal components, and SPECIALLY when it comes to RAM, you wanna get the "brand" stuff. Personally I haven't heard about PNY, might be good though. I can tell you, from my own experience, that some brands like Dane-Elec are not worth it.
