A couple of weeks ago I went out and bought an Adata 32GB expresscard for my MBP.
Thing was horrible, I couldn't sleep my MBP due to a bug in the device, it didn't actually work at PCI-E speeds because it was basically a USB 2.0 device in expresscard format and lastly random write speeds were horrible, copying 3,000 small files which totalled 60 megs took 2 hours!
I promptly returned the item and then found out that pretty much all the expresscard SSD's around suck balls.
However I did find something interesting, PQI is releasing a new SSD Expresscard drive which actually uses the PCI-E lane. Also of note is that they are promising decent performance out of this unit.
Has anyone seen this available anywhere or have more information about it?
I am very interested in utilising my expresscard slot for additonal storage capacity especially with greater than mechanical hard disk performance.

Yah I looked into expresscard SSD's and was horrified, I haven't heard of the PQI on but I hope it takes advantage of the PCI-E lane, would make an awesome boot drive.

For anyone wanting an update on this upgrade, PQI has released a pdf with technical specifications finally
