I believe using windows to create a partition you go Start menu > Right click Computer > Select Manage

    Storage > Disk Management

See what kind of a mess you can make there.

Alternatively you can download Partition Magic -- This tool is not free but personally the most effective I have used.

    Thanks.

You are limited to 4 partitions per physical drive, regardless of the tool you use to create them. You cannot create a 5th. What you CAN do is create multiple logical drives inside a single extended partition. You'll have to find a non-destructive way to get that free space incorporated into the existing extended partition, and then create a logical drive out of it. There may be 3rd party utilities that will allow you to do that, but I can't give much advice there.

A word of warning...Media Direct is pretty fussy about how a drive is partitioned. If you actually alter that extended partition (the media direct partition) I'd say you stand a good chance of mucking it up and killing Media Direct.
