I want to restore my computer back to default, as if I just bought this thing brand new out of the box.
My question is, if you were to repartition your computer, is that bad? Even if you do it about every other month or so?

I know that I shouldn't and don't have to but I want too.

You mean you want to keep changing the partition sizes or something? I don't know why anyone would want to do this. THe only down side is you will most likely only be able to keep making your partitions smaller. Else you need to buy a program that lets you combine partitions, resize, and all that.. They aren't cheap by the way.

I've also heard that resizing partitions is very bad just because sometimes the program you are using uses like the inner disk of the hard drive and then half of the partitions on the outside of the disk. Basically constant fragmented files.

I think you are saying you want to reformat your computer constantly. And reinstall things from the computer restore partition or cds.

If you wish to do this install your operating systems on a partition like the size of hmm 5 gigs should do. Then install all the rest of your computer programs on a different partition. That way you can just keep reformating your os partition and restoring. Make sure you keep a registry backup so the other programs you installed on a seperate partition can be used without hassle.
