I am having trouble finding the max temp of this cpu. I have found that some from this T2xxx series can run up to 100C? Others in the 60s/70s. Can anyone tell me where I can find the max temp for this particular one?

I would download and install "coretemp" this program will allow you to monitor you cpu temps in either Celsius or Fahrenheit, all from your taskbar.
In the settings of the program, it will say what the max thermal temperature of your chip is.
It shoudl not be getting over 60C, regardless of use.
If you have a Dell, download I8kFANGUI, and use that to change the temperatures at which the fans come on.

Thank you! The cpu is running about 63C so I guess that's okay. Seems hot to me but I guess these particular ones just run really hot :\

No that is too high. At idle or on NBR I run 50c/122f and I have Turion which runs much hotter than Intel. I believe most with PDC run at 40c/104f at idle. You have the same chip as C2D so all generalities and characteristics should be the same. Pull up your Task Manager what is the CPU usage? Is something running wild in the background?

Run MSCONFIG, and shut off many of the stupid Windows background processes, this will free up memory and cut CPU usage.

I also agree that 63C is too high.
My merom at 1.73Ghz peaks at 55C under full load.

what are you using to monitor the temps?

my T2500 shows inconsistent temps when using different temp monitors
