    Hi all,

I was wondering whether there is much different in these two CPUs in respect of power consumption?

I don't really game and I am more concerned about battery life.

Given the U5400 is more cheaper than then i3, could you let me know if it is worth the extra money?

    Any help appreciated.

They perform almost similar and use similar power.

Two benefits of the Core i3 are hyperthreading and virtualization technology. For most users that will not be very important.

it should be enough for u but its always better to have some extra power with CULV laptops as u can't upgrade the CPU's later on if ur need more power as CPU is soldered to motherboard.. if the extra amount is little , i would do it.. less than $50 maybe.

Keep in mind that the U5400 and 330UM run at exactly the same clockspeed and have the same amount of cache.

They look like the same processor/core with some features disabled.

Its a Pentium only in marketing. Intel did the same with some low end Core 2 Duo's.
