Anybody know about how much longer a LED laptop will last longer than a regular CCFL backlight?

    Is it worth the upgrade?

Probably not a lot longer, but a little. However, it's worth the upgrade simply for the improved picture quality. Obviously a lot depends on the screen manufacturer, but in general LED back lit screens produce better color, due to a purer white, and brighter colors.

Also, the screens are better for the environment because they do not contain mercury like the traditional screens do.
