Could someone exlain to me what kind of difference in performance between the core 2 duo su7300 and the i3 350M? Itdbe best if I could get examples of where i'll see the difference. I see the ratings on the benchmark, but I have no clue how to interpret the data. The reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to decide whether I want to get the thinner asus ul30vt or the thicker asus u30jc. I'm moving from a core 2 duo t5200 or whicher one is right around that. If the comarisons could also be compared to that, it would help me out as I would have a reference point.

The 2.26GHz I3 350M is much faster than the 1.3GHz SU7300. The UL30VT will get you better battery life, but at the cost of slower cpu performance over the U30JC.

And why not wait for the UL30JT? It is the upgrade of the VT with a Core i7 620UM or 640UM. It will still be slower than the U30JC, but faster than the UL30VT.

It really depends on what you're doing. Typical usage like Internet, Office and Media, aren't particularly CPU intensive.

Yep. The Core i7 640UM's Turbo Mode even in dual core is so high that the performance difference won't be that much different either. Not to mention it'll perform similar with single core.

The i3-350M should be faster than SU7300 but like Jayayess said , why not wait for the i7-620 or 640 which should be faster and better?

I have the same delimma . I really want the 80vt or 30vt but idk if I should wait for the jt. Other than the faster processor in the jt, what else does it improve? I think people should definitely wait for the jt if it's the ONLY computer they have.
