I bought a laptop about 2 years ago.
Brand new, three months in, it's motherboard burnt out, got it replaced.
Only two months after that, the monitor stopped working (they fixed a minor keyboard issue as well).
And once I got it back, it took barely another 2 months for the keyboard to break.

In the first 10 months of owning this computer, it spent over 4.5 months in the mail being fixed.

I have this laptop through bestbuy's extended warranty thing.

It's broken 4 times, but because they fixed two seperate things in one go, it only counts as 3 with regards to their 'no lemon' policy.

The only things left in this computer that are the original parts are the case, DvD drive, HDD, and ram.

I'm deathly afraid this computer will die on me a week after my warrantys expired.

    Any suggestions?

I know how you feel, i'd sell it if i where you. I had a notebook several years ago with exactly the same as you have now. Got it fixed 3 times so i was afraid of something going to break after the warranty period. So i sold mine with the warranty that was left. Though the new owner never experienced any new problems.

I know how you feel :(

just break the hard drive on purpose, then get a new replacement.

Selling off a problem notebook without letting the buyer know is a pretty low move lol.

I'd be pissed if I bought a car and the previous owner never told me that the reason he was selling it was due to constant transmission problems

How would I break the harddrive on purpose?
(Considering it's one of the only things that hasn't broken yet...)

Ofcourse you'd tell that you had it in for repair and what the problem was! Atleast i did and so i've always done, would be wrong to lie about something like that. I know that i would be pissed aswell if i bought a notebook wich the seller didn't tell anything about what it's been through. I treat people as i wanna be treated :)

Absolutely... You may sell it to anyone but it will be much better if you *honestly* tell the reason why you are selling it...
