    Is there a significant performance difference between the Intel P8400 @ 2.26GHz and the P8600 @ 2.4GHz?

My guess is minimal. The FSB and cache are identical, the only difference is 140 Mhz off of the clock speed.

You're probably not going to notice a difference.

The real question is, how does the P8400 compare to the P9500? I'm curious to see how the extra 3MBs of cache affect it's preformance, or if it really is insignificant. I'll do some digging around, because I was thinking about it recently - and if it isn't a big difference I could save myself $165.

Edit: A previous thread on this forum leads me to believe that a 6MB and 3MB cache shouldn't make a huge difference. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=3661042

Very minimal. I suggest saving the money and sticking with the 8400.

I don't want to be a jerk about this. And those who posted likely read the boards as much as I. I suspect it was Chaz's post it became a 140Mhz difference. I thought of correcting him, but decided not to. But to now see it repeated? It is a 134Mhz difference. And yes all posters are correct. I agree, not worth it.
