Alright, those are the current specs of my laptop.
I was wondering if anyone knows or could estimate how much of an improvement in performance it would get if I upgraded the processor from a T6500 to a T9600.
If it's even compatible which i'm pretty sure it is.

Depends on what you're doing with your computer... for basic tasks the difference would be 0% since both would not be utilized fully and downclocked.
-
What about for games?
-
it the rare machine, even a gaming machine, that is limited by the cpu on board.
One thing a bigger-faster cpu will get you is more heat, power consumption, and slightly reduced battery life. You can count on that. Performance 'improvements', not so much. -

Actually, Dawn of War II performance has improved quite a bit (especially minimum framerate) since I upgraded from a P8800 to a T9900.
-
Again, it depends - what games? GTA IV? Supreme Commander? What resolution and settings? For most games, the HD 4650 will still be the limiting factor.

it is always good to have more power and a upgrade to T9600 will help a lot... in fact a T9600 scores as well as AMD's new quad cores which is really a joke.. i'd say T9600 would be great.. if u can get it cheap..
