    I'm interested in the lenovo t440s, but in my region I can only get the version with 1tb and 16ssd cache....question: are there any benchmarks for performance differences between this set up and straight HD or ssd?

    An SSD cache is no where near what a real SSD is like.

    My Alienware came 18 laptop came with a 750 GB x 2 WD Black HDDs in RAID 0 mode + 64 GB mSATA SSD Cache, I quickly removed that nonesense and installed real SSDs. Caching SSDs are just a marketing gimmick to help sell laptops. The first question most people ask the sales rep is "does it have an SSD" and he would happily reply YES. It's not an SSD! Period
