Many Sabrent SSDs (if not all) sport the Phison SSD Controller.

Since Sabrent doesn't provide any NVMe driver for its users, I tried installing the Phison NVMe driver and there is a very nice boost in performance

    1) Download Phison NVMe driver v1.5.0.0

    2) Make sure to right-click on the file you just downloaded, go to Properties, then hit Unblock from the bottom right as it may be blocked since it was downloaded from the internet, if you don't do this before you extract it, then it may not install correctly due to insufficient privileges.

To prevent this automatic blocking of files in the future so you don't have to go unblocking every file you download to ensure it runs properly, check the guide in this thread:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/are-you-sure-you-want-to-run-this-file-yes-or-no.825668/

    3) Go to Device manager > Storage controllers then right-click on the NVMe Controller Driver, select Update driver, and point it to where you extracted the Phison Driver.

    4) Reboot when prompted.

Note: Please create a system restore point before you install the drivers just in case.

Nice boost in those numbers. Did you do any power (efficiency) testing also? :)

Although it did seem to work, it is not compatible with the Sabrent Rocket 4.0 controller software, that also checks for firmware updates. I will roll back for now, though it did seem to offer a little more speed.

    I didn't and I don't even know how to.
you're right just checked that too. Although I don't care, been checking for firmware updates almost daily since I got my Sabrent SSDs, NADA. So when I will wanna check in the future I can just uninstall the driver but for now I'll take the speed boost.

I got an amazing boost with this over the Windows 7 generic NVMe driver on my original Sabrent Rocket.

I forgot to take screenshots comparing against the Windows 10 generic NVMe driver, but it did still increase my sequentials a little.

Edit: Never mind, this driver causes BSOD coming out of sleep. Rolling back to Windows generic NVMe driver.

I just put my laptop to sleep, waited for a minute then power it back, it worked just fine. Are all your other drivers up to date like graphics, wireless and LAN?

Yeah they’re up to date. It seems the driver does not play nice with my older Phison E12 based Rocket.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm gonna pass on messing any more with a working system. The BSODs caused corruption on my boot drives and I wasted a lot of time yesterday repairing both OSes and reinstalling broken apps.

I have a Rocket 4 Plus in my MSI stealth 15m running PCIE 4.0

I benchmarked the drive a lot when I got it (virtually empty)

I updated the driver and ran CD Mark (drive is now more than 50% full) and the results were very noticeable although I can't figure out why the sequential speed is off vs the other driver. Other metrics are greatly improved

Lots of factor play in, how full the drive is, TRIM operations were completed? background processes. I see a good improvement with the Phison driver and snappier operations overall.

Sabrent Releases Firmware Update for Rocket 4 Plus, Fixes Performance Issues techpowerup.com | Today, 08:58

Sabrent today released a firmware update for its Rocket 4 Plus M.2 NVMe SSD. The new version 1.2 firmware addresses several caching and performance issues with initial batches of the drive that shipped with the version 1.1 firmware. The latest batches should come with version 1.2 firmware pre-installed. The update is released as a click-to-run drive firmware updater that works from Windows. The company recommends those with version 1.1 firmware to update their drives. Usual precautions, such as a data backup, as well as power backup during the firmware update, are recommended.

Which makes the comparison meaningless then.

Absolutely because there wasn't a large increase in the sequential transfers at all even with a drive that isn't nearly empty like before

You have some results for a Phison PCIE-4.0 Drive you would like to share with us?

Just installed the driver for my T-Force Z340 which using the same Phison Controller, finally hitting advertised speed but the drive now showing as a removeable disk (external drive), any ideas?

I forgot about this. But when I go to device manager I don't have an NVMe controller. Is this due to me being RADI0?
