I have an Toshiba A65 and the pin broke off in the powercord. Any suggestions on how to get the pin out, or do I need to purchase a new cord?

What pin? You mean the metallic part that stays in the laptop ac port?

Well, to remove the jack, you will need to get access to the motherboard. You must also know how to use a soldering iron, so that you can remove the jack from the mainboard.
Do you have a replacement?, because you will need a replacement jack with identical power pinouts to the one your system currently uses.

Pliers? Small drill? Or just replace the connector?

can you take a picture of the piece you need to replace.
Their is a great online electronics warehouse, mouser electronics.
They have every electrical component ever made. I think there are over 12,000 different jacks and plugs to choose from.
Post a picture of the part, and post if there is any lettering /numbering on the part, this is most likely the parts manufacturing number/size, etc.

The part will cost less than $5, so its not much money. The hardest part is finding the exact same jack/plug
