Anyone knows what kind of graphics will the upcoming PineTrail platform have for netbooks?

Other sites say still the old GMA 500, and other the X3150 (Santa Rosa)...Is kinda of confusing.

Its the GMA 3150, an updated GMA 3100; I don't think its the same as the X3100 however.

Will that gpu even support HD video? I remember when I was at the Sony Store and asked them about the x3100 gpu and they said that Sony had a one machine with that gpu paired with blu-ray and, had to be recalled as it could not play blu-ray or HD video content.

It will play HD better than current Atom's but it still will not be perfect. The successor to Pinetrail, codenamed Cedar Trail, will be HD certified and support Blu-ray, HDMI, Directx 10.1 and more.

Yes I read about cedar trail. So how does the x3150 compare to GMA500?

Much better. It will perform like any Santa Rosa platform laptop gpu wise. Here is an X3100 gaming review. Also it means that more netbooks should come with 7 Home Premium instead of Starter (maybe?) due to the graphics being able to handle it better.

Yeah I remember I was looking at the Lenovo U110 with that gpu and found it to be okay, better than gma950, but no HD support. So, what would the key differences between the X3100 vs X3150? Is it just a clocked speed thing or is there something else that's also different?

Thanks for your replies guys, I was hoping for the X3150. I am holding not to buy the Vaio P because of the crappy GMA500. :)
    Do you have any links?

I think its JUST 3150, not X3150. The X3x00 is not very power efficient. The only link to it we have are from Fudzilla:
    http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/15984/34/
    http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/...phics-chip-for-its-pine-trail-atom-processor/

It's supposedly based on G31's GMA 3100, which itself is a heavily modified GMA 950. It will need a seperate HD decoder provided by Broadcom to enable full HD acceleration, but Fud says the combo should be cheaper than Ion.
