You would still need a computer though... (or an old laptop, but newer is better)

    There are other ones though.
This was the one I was considering buying a while back.

actually I think he may have meant using the laptop screen as a monitor or tv. I've actually seen someone that has done this before.

Use either an USB TV Tuner with Video inputs, depends on the quality but you can even support HD quality inputs. Hauppauge, Gamebridge, Pinnacle and AMD/ATI TV Wonder comes to mind, I'm sure there are quite a bit of products out there that would allow you to connect an XBOX/XBOX360 to your laptop like I do for my PS2/PS3 systems.

Or if you don't have that external monitor yet, you could simply buy a unit that accepts the output from the Xbox. I think the Xbox even has ports other than the standard composite output...

Sucks for you when you post 2 thread with similar names and don't check the other one. That's why there's rules against that :p

    Anyways,
You can always by a USB capture Card f you want to play directly on your laptop. My friend does that for his Wii.

    Hello,

D3X, do you play your PS2/PS3 through your laptop or do you just record?. I have no tv in my room so would like to play on my laptop. Is there any lag when purely playing?

If not is there any card that would allow me to play on my laptop with no lag?
    Thank you.

I play through my laptop, I use an old ConvertX AV100U to do it and it does get somewhat laggy on games such as racing(Burnout) or rhythm base games(guitar hero) that require high framerates. Now this might just be either my slower laptop(W3V) or the AV tuner itself.

I have yet to try it on Vista and my C90S.

Of course you will need an expressCard slot if your looking for higher resolution, but if you just want to play games then I heard pretty good things about Gamebridge.

Off Topic since this is obviously A/V equipment...
But isn't Component (female) used for both Input and Output? I mean, I have my progressive scan LG 1080i DVD player and it has output connectors that look like that, and then there's also input on my TV and they look exactly the same too. And then there are the component cables, and both ends are males...

For normal cables, input and output doesn't matter. The signal will travel either way as the cable has no way to differentiate between that. Thus, normal cables are just male-male.

For conversion cables, the female end is usually referred to as in, and the male end as out.

OK whatever, thanks for the correction. I just corrected the "user component to dvi port" which is obviously not DVI but VGA. But that solution works.
