Ok,
Im trying to free up my laptops hard drive and so have an external 500gb hard drive. What im wondering is,
If I second click on the shortcut to the game and click open file location, then copy that file locations with the games containing folders in it and copy it to my external hard drive, will I then be able to uninstall the game from my laptops hard drive and then play through my extenal hard drive as long as it stays connected?
Simple answer and an explanation would be good aswell !
Thanks a bunch

First off, answer these 3 questions:
1. What is your internal hard drive.
2. What kind of external connections do you have.
3. What is the speed of the external drive. -
the game will run slow from your external hardrive, and this will make your laptop feel slower.
Game and programs run smother when installed in the internal HDD. USB HDD are for backup not to install and run programs. -
If you have eSATA it shouldn't matter much at all. The only issue is that some programs expect to always have the same path such as E:, so if you remove it and plug it in later it may not work if Windows has assigned it F: that time instead. Some programs deal with it, some don't.
If it is USB you will feel like it is extremely slow compared to nearly any internal drive. I would not suggest using a USB drive, but if you have eSATA its a gamble and might work well for you. -

naton, where have you been in the past year? Under a rock?
Most laptops (mid-high end range) have eSata aka external sata.
This means that there is almost no distinction between internal and external hard drive performance.
The OP needs to tell us which connections he has so we can further this discussion. -
