Ok a friend of mine gave me his old laptop (gf found out he was cheating and wrecked all his stuff lol) My friend thought the laptop was broken because he kept getting an error message on it.
Now problem is his gf decided scratch the crap out of the back of it in her fit of rage and I have absolutely no clue what model the laptop is all I know it is a Toshiba Satellite and after looking online looks like there are 100's of different models in that range.
Somehow I have managed to reinstall windows on the laptop but of course it had no drivers. Now by basically hoping to get a hit I have managed to get the PCI controller and graphics card driver but am still missing Ethernet Controller (x2) and Multi media Audio Controller as they all have the yellow question mark thingee in device manager.
The only things I basically know about the computer are these bits I have managed to pick up
HD MK4026GAX
MAT****A UJDA760 DVD/CDRW
INTEL (R) 8201DB ULTRA
TOPIC100 CARDBUS
I also found these numbers in various search flukes.
Vendor ID 8086h
device ID 3580h
device 852 GM/GMV integrated graphics card
Device 82801 DB/DBL/DBM
USB UHCI Controller #1
USB - universal serial bus UHCI
82801 BAM/CAM/DBI
Hub interface to pci bridge
processor 1.50 GHz 240 mb ram
Now I have no clue if any of that information is helpful but obviously with no ethernet card I have had no luck getting online to find the drivers via the laptop. I've been on my pc downloading random drivers and hoping they are the ones I need without much success.
My question is, is there some kind of programme I can download to disk that I can run on my laptop that will give me the information I need to know either what modelof laptop I have or conversely what drivers I am requiring to get the laptop up and running again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go into the BIOS and try to find out the model of the laptop, cause it's a lot easier to locate all the drivers.

List of softwares check here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=206289
Edit: For system information, if you are using XP, go start/all program/system tools/ open system information. -
