    Hi everybody!

    I'm Vietnamese! I have 01 Laptop Asus F80L. It runs with processor Intel T5550, Ram 2GB-667, chipset GL960. Now I want to upgrade it to use processor T7500. Can i do it? Can my laptop run with this processor? What 's happen when i upgrade it from T5550 to T7500! Please help me to decide upgrading or canceling this decision.

    It would depend on your laptop's BIOS really. It should work as I have seen other GL960 accept 800 FSB Core 2 Duo's, no guarantees though.

    Might I ask why you are considering upgrading a T5550 to a T7500? Faster clocks speeds have no normal use performance gains.

    A twenty percent clock speed increase and about a 25% increase in passmark scores will not make your notebook anymore 'current'.

    The platform is just too old (the MB's chipset...).

    What do you expect from this upgrade?

    Unless the cpu is 'free' and you have the skills to switch cpu's (and the luck that your chipset/system supports 800MHz FSB cpu's...) then it would be worth trying. Otherwise, I would say cancel these 'upgrade' plans and set your sights on a more modern/current platform.

    Even a used one one or two years old will be more than double the performance (if not 4x) of your current and/or upgraded system.
