Hi:
Toshiba A45 S120. Holds up to 2GB in two slots.
The crucial website recommends DDR 333 SO-DIMM PC2700 modules.
So Would a PC3200 (or higher) 400MHz DDR SO-DIMM Notebook Memory work with my laptop?
What are the disadvantages of installing this memory?
Do all the DDR SO-DIMM would work ok? what are the disadvantages of installing this memory?
Thanks!

Chrisca70,
1) Not all DDR SO-DIMM would work ok in your system. Some won't. What you should concern the most is whether your system would take high density DRAM modules. I'm not going to go in detail here but briefly the high density and the low density DRAMs are not exactly the same in term of address and data lines connected to it. Since laptop manufacturers would not reveal how their MB designed, your best bet is always to buy those claimed to be compatible with your system. Less headache and less hassle if something goes wrong.
2) There is no advantage to buy faster DRAM module unless you can over-clock your system and manually change your DRAM timing, assuming that module does work in your system per note 1 above. But then you wouldn't ask the question above. -
Thanks you so much for making things more clear!
